Dr Alexander has over 20 years of full-service cross-border experience as a lawyer, which is supplemented by his doctorate in comparative civil and common law. 

AUTHORISATION TO PRACTICE IN BELGIUM

As a registered member of the Brussels Bar (Dutch-speaking, NOAB) on the B-List for non-EU lawyers, Dr Alexander is fully authorised to offer advice in Belgium on Belgian law, EU law, international law, and foreign law. His practice rights are confirmed under the Belgian Judicial Code as represented in the NOAB regulations.

PROFESSIONAL TITLE

His is also authorised, under the NOAB regulations,  to provide his expert legal services in Belgium on a fly in, fly out basis under his home professional title (barrister, solicitor). 

SCOPE OF LEGAL PRACTICE IN BELGIUM

Areas of Practice: As full-service lawyer practicing internationally, Dr Alexander specialises in the fields of asset recovery and protection, transactions, obligations, finance, constitutional and administrative law, criminal defence and prosecution, and medical malpractice.

Legal Advice:  He is fully authorised to provide comprehensive guidance on Belgian law, EU regulations, international treaties, and cross-border issues, including asset recovery, protection, and strategic dispute resolution.

EU & International Law: Dr Alexander is fully authorised to advice on on EU directives, comparative law, and worldwide transactions.

Mediation & Arbitration (ADR): Dr Alexander's Belgium practice includes full participation as mediator, arbitrator, or client representative in domestic, EU, and international disputes without restrictions, as these are private ADR processes outside court monopolies.

Participation in Court Proceedings: Dr Alexander is able to provide advisory support in Belgian courts, working in conjunction with a local Tableau (A-List) lawyer for representation where required.

Note: Direct pleading is restricted to specific bodies like the Council of State or Council for Disputes of Foreigners, per NOAB guidelines.
